About the Project
Fiji Beach Grenadines Residence is a Caribbean hillside residential development designed for a beachside site in Fiji Beach, the Grenadines. The project takes a multi-villa architectural approach, distributing the residential program across multiple structures of varying scale rather than concentrating the development into a single building footprint. The strategy creates a layered hillside community where each villa occupies its own architectural position while contributing to a unified composition across the site.
The development includes both two-story and three-story villa types, giving the property a built-in variety of scale, view, and program that single-typology developments cannot match. The two-story villas offer a more horizontally distributed living experience grounded in their immediate landscape, while the three-story villas climb higher into the hillside to capture progressively expansive ocean views with each level. This dual-typology approach allows the development to serve different client preferences and lifestyle priorities without compromising the architectural coherence of the overall composition.
The architectural language is rooted in the Caribbean vernacular while remaining proportionally and detail-wise contemporary. Wraparound wood verandas extend across the villa elevations, doubling the usable area of every level and providing the deep shading central to comfortable tropical living. The verandas function as inhabited thresholds between interior and ocean, ensuring that every primary room engages directly with the breeze, the view, and the surrounding landscape. Natural lava stone accents anchor the architecture in the geological identity of the region, introducing tactile material warmth and a sense of permanence that connects each villa to the volcanic origins of the Caribbean itself. Pitched roofs reference traditional regional building, providing both climatic performance and visual hierarchy across the hillside composition. The design philosophy treats the entire development as a single integrated environment where architecture, landscape, and ocean combine into a coherent residential experience. The result is a Caribbean hillside community built for the way beachside tropical living actually unfolds, distributed across multiple villa types that each engage the site on their own terms.

Services Provided
Atelier International led the full architectural design process for Fiji Beach Grenadines Residence, from initial concept through permit-ready documentation. Services included site analysis, master planning across multiple villa typologies, schematic design, design development, detailed 3D renderings and visualizations, and complete construction documentation. The team coordinated structural and MEP consultants with attention to the engineering demands of hillside construction, integrated lava stone detailing with the broader architectural composition, and handled local permit submission and zoning approvals specific to the Grenadines' coastal and hillside development requirements. Our scope advanced the project from vision to fully resolved, code-compliant design ready for construction across the entire development.
