About the Project
Keller's Residence is a waterfront home designed for a private bayfront site in St. Lucia, positioned directly on a Caribbean bay with the kind of immediate water access that defines premier coastal residential properties. The project takes a multi-level architectural approach that responds to both the topography of the site and the layered nature of bayfront living, organizing the residence vertically to capture progressively different relationships to the water at each elevation.
The architectural strategy treats the bay itself as the primary architectural collaborator. Every level of the home is composed to engage the water, with open terraces extending outward at multiple elevations to capture views, breezes, and direct sightlines to the Caribbean beyond. The terraces are not stylistic additions, they are the home's defining architectural feature, transforming the residence from an enclosed building into a series of inhabited platforms that step toward the bay. The multi-level organization also resolves a key challenge of waterfront design, ensuring that the home's program is distributed in a way that gives every primary space its own outdoor connection rather than concentrating water-facing rooms onto a single level.
The estate's relationship to the water extends far beyond visual access. A private dock provides direct waterborne arrival and departure, while the integrated boathouse supports the kind of active boating lifestyle that bayfront properties enable. The infinity pool, paired with an adjacent wood deck, anchors the outdoor program with a sculptural water feature that frames the home's relationship to the bay beyond. Tropical landscaping is integrated into the hillside itself, knitting the architecture into the natural terrain through layered plantings that soften the building's geometry and reinforce its connection to place. The design philosophy treats the entire site as a single composed environment where architecture, water, landscape, and topography combine into one coherent waterfront residence. The result is a Caribbean home built for the way bayfront living actually unfolds, distributed across multiple levels that each engage the water on their own terms.

Services Provided
Atelier International led the full architectural design process for Keller's Residence, from initial concept through permit-ready documentation. Services included site analysis, schematic design, design development, detailed 3D renderings and visualizations, and complete construction documentation. The team coordinated structural and MEP consultants with attention to the engineering demands of waterfront and hillside construction, integrated the dock and boathouse programs with the residential architecture, and handled local permit submission and zoning approvals specific to St. Lucia's coastal and waterfront development requirements. Our scope advanced the project from vision to fully resolved, code-compliant design ready for construction.
