About the Project

About the Project

Le Sport Hotel is a hillside oceanfront hospitality development designed for a coastal site in St. Lucia. The project takes a Caribbean colonial architectural approach, drawing from the region's established hospitality vernacular to create a hotel environment that feels rooted in place rather than imported from elsewhere. The result is a development that reads as authentically Caribbean while delivering the refined hospitality experience that high-end coastal travel demands.
The architectural strategy distributes the program across multiple villa-style accommodation units rather than concentrating guests into a single hotel mass. This approach gives every guest a closer relationship to the landscape, the breeze, and the sea, while creating the intimate scale that distinguishes premium Caribbean hospitality from generic resort development. Each villa is positioned to capture coastal views, prevailing breezes, and direct or near-direct connection to the surrounding hillside terrain. The multi-building organization transforms the property from a hotel into something closer to a curated village, where guests move through landscape and architecture rather than corridors.
The architectural language honors Caribbean colonial tradition while remaining proportionally and detail-wise refined. Wraparound verandas extend across the villa elevations, doubling the usable area of each unit and providing the deep shading central to colonial-era tropical design. Arched colonnades introduce rhythm and proportion to the architecture, framing views and supporting the verandas with the kind of detail vocabulary that distinguishes thoughtful colonial design from pastiche. The design philosophy treats the architecture as a backdrop for the guest experience, prioritizing comfort, view, and indoor-outdoor flow over architectural spectacle. The result is a Caribbean hotel development built for the way coastal hospitality actually unfolds, slowly, with constant connection to the landscape, the sea, and the architectural traditions of the region.

Services Provided

Services Provided

Atelier International led the full architectural design process for Le Sport Hotel, from initial concept through permit-ready documentation. Services included site analysis, master planning across multiple villa structures, schematic design, design development, detailed 3D renderings and visualizations, and complete construction documentation. The team coordinated structural, MEP, and civil consultants, integrated the pool and amenity programs into the architectural composition, and handled local permit submission and zoning approvals specific to St. Lucia's coastal development requirements. Our scope advanced the project from vision to fully resolved, code-compliant design ready for construction across the entire hotel property.
