Alton Road Residence is a contemporary two-story home located on Alton Road in Miami Beach, designed for a client who wanted a refined modern residence that prioritized clean indoor-outdoor flow and a strong relationship to the surrounding tropical landscape. The architectural strategy emphasizes restraint and material clarity, organizing the home around a tightly composed two-story massing that maximizes interior volume while preserving privacy from the corridor and neighboring properties.

The facade combines warm wood cladding with crisp white stucco, a deliberate pairing that introduces tactile texture and natural warmth into an otherwise minimal architectural composition. The two materials are detailed cleanly against one another, allowing the contrast between them to create rhythm across the elevations without relying on ornament. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls run across the primary facades, dissolving the boundary between interior and exterior and admitting daylight throughout the day. Tropical landscaping wraps the property, knitting the architecture into the South Florida environment and softening the rectilinear geometry of the home with layered plantings and mature foliage.

Inside, the open plan living and kitchen organization eliminates unnecessary partitions, creating a continuous main level that flows between cooking, dining, and gathering. The most distinctive interior architectural move is the black steel staircase, a sculptural circulation element that introduces structural honesty and contemporary edge into the otherwise warm material palette.
