Prairie Avenue Residence is a contemporary two-story home located on one of South Beach's most sought-after residential streets, just steps from the Miami Beach skyline and the Atlantic shoreline. The design responds to its tight urban lot with a clean, controlled massing that maximizes interior volume while preserving privacy from the street and neighboring properties. The architectural language is unmistakably modern, defined by horizontal lines, layered planes, and a restrained material palette that lets the building's geometry speak for itself.
The facade pairs warm wood cladding with crisp white stucco, a combination that feels at home in South Beach while distinguishing the residence from the area's more traditional housing stock. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls run across the primary elevations, flooding the interior with natural light and connecting the living spaces to the surrounding landscape. Two covered balconies extend the indoor experience outward, providing shaded outdoor rooms on both levels that capture cross-breezes and frame views of the neighborhood and skyline beyond.
Inside, the open plan organization eliminates unnecessary partitions, allowing the main level to flow continuously between living, dining, and kitchen zones. The design philosophy treats interior space as a single unified volume punctuated by carefully placed material transitions and ceiling articulations. Every architectural decision serves the client's request for a refined, modern home that feels expansive without being ostentatious, grounded in the rhythm of South Beach life while offering genuine privacy and retreat.


Atelier International led the complete architectural design process for Prairie Avenue Residence, from initial concept through permit-ready documentation. Services included site analysis, schematic design, design development, 3D visualization, and full construction documentation. The team coordinated with structural and MEP consultants, managed permit submission through the City of Miami Beach, and handled zoning compliance including setback verification, lot coverage analysis, and height restriction review. Our scope took the project from vision to fully resolved, code-compliant design ready for construction.
