About the Project
Calivigny Point Grenada Resort is a luxury hospitality development designed for an oceanfront site at Calivigny Point in Grenada. The project takes a villa-based architectural approach to resort design, organizing the property around multiple independent oceanfront villa units rather than a centralized hotel mass. This strategy gives every guest the privacy, scale, and direct landscape connection that high-end Caribbean travel demands, transforming the property from a conventional resort into something closer to a curated collection of private waterfront residences offered as hospitality.
The architectural strategy treats each villa as a complete residential experience in its own right. Every unit is composed with its own private infinity pool, ensuring that guests do not need to share pool amenities with other parties to access the kind of waterfront lifestyle the Caribbean rewards. The infinity pools are positioned to extend visually into the sea beyond, creating the architectural illusion that water flows directly from the villa into the Caribbean horizon. This design move is repeated across every villa unit, giving the entire property a consistent architectural identity rooted in the relationship between built form and water.
The villas are designed for the way premium Caribbean travel actually unfolds. Covered outdoor living areas extend the interior program directly into the landscape, providing inhabitable thresholds between fully enclosed space and open-air ocean view. The covered areas remain usable throughout the day regardless of sun or rain, supporting the kind of extended outdoor stays that distinguish premium tropical resorts from conventional hotels. Outdoor kitchens within each villa unit transform the property from a hospitality destination into something closer to a private residential experience, supporting in-villa dining, preparation, and the slower rhythms of vacation life. Panoramic Caribbean sea views serve as the constant backdrop of every villa, ensuring that the relationship to the water is total and uninterrupted. The design philosophy treats every villa as a complete tropical living experience, anchored by architecture that combines residential intimacy with resort-caliber amenities. Services Provided
Atelier International led the full architectural design process for Calivigny Point Grenada Resort, from initial concept through construction. Services included site analysis, master planning across multiple villa units, schematic design, design development, detailed 3D renderings and visualizations, complete construction documentation, and ongoing construction administration during the build phase. The team coordinated structural, MEP, and civil consultants, integrated infinity pool and outdoor kitchen programs into the architectural composition of each villa, and handled local permit submission and zoning approvals specific to Grenada's coastal and resort development requirements. Our scope advanced the project from vision through fully realized construction, ensuring design integrity from documentation through delivery.
