SW 24th Road Residence is a contemporary three-story home located in a quiet residential pocket of Miami, Florida. The design takes a bold architectural position, defined by a striking black and white facade that distinguishes the residence within its neighborhood while maintaining the proportional restraint of a thoughtfully composed modern home. The massing is deliberately layered, with cantilevered volumes and recessed terraces creating depth, shadow, and visual rhythm across all three levels.
The material palette plays high contrast as a design strategy. Crisp white planes provide a neutral architectural canvas, while deep black accents define structure, framing, and key facade elements. Wood slat accents introduce warmth and tactile texture, breaking up the monochrome composition with natural material continuity. Floor-to-ceiling glazing runs across the primary elevations, dissolving the boundary between interior and exterior and bringing daylight deep into the open-plan core of the home.
The crowning element is a rooftop observatory, a top-level architectural gesture that creates a dedicated viewing space above the main living levels. The observatory transforms the rooftop from a simple terrace into a true architectural destination, framing sky and surrounding views in a way that elevates the entire program. Throughout the residence, the design philosophy prioritizes openness, light, and continuity. Living spaces flow into one another without unnecessary partitions, while the seamless indoor-outdoor connection central to South Florida design is reinforced at every level. The result is a contemporary home that feels confident and architecturally ambitious without losing the warmth required of a private residence.

Atelier International led the complete architectural design process for SW 24th Road Residence, from initial concept through permit-ready documentation. Services included site analysis, schematic design, design development, 3D visualization, and full construction documentation. The team coordinated structural and MEP consultants, managed permit submission through the City of Miami, and handled zoning compliance including setback verification, height restriction analysis, and lot coverage review. Our scope took the project from vision to fully resolved, code-compliant design ready for construction.
