Bayside Lane Residence is a contemporary waterfront home designed for a private bayfront lot in Miami Beach, Florida. The architectural vision responds directly to its setting, framing uninterrupted bay views from every level while creating a private retreat insulated from the surrounding neighborhood. The three-story massing balances horizontal cantilevers against vertical circulation, producing a sculptural composition that reads as both grounded and weightless.
The material palette pairs warm timber slats with crisp white stucco and expansive glazing, blending tropical warmth with contemporary restraint. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior, while deep overhangs and recessed terraces provide shade and privacy without sacrificing the indoor-outdoor connection central to South Florida living. A sculptural spiral staircase serves as both circulation spine and architectural focal point, threading the three levels together with a single dramatic gesture.
The design philosophy prioritizes light, water, and air. Every primary living space opens to the bay. Cross-ventilation, passive shading, and oriented glazing reduce thermal load while maximizing the experience of waterfront living. The result is a residence that feels deeply connected to its environment, designed for a client who wanted modern architecture grounded in the rhythms of the Miami Beach coast.

Atelier International led the full architectural design process for Bayside Lane Residence, from initial concept through permit-ready documentation. Services included site analysis, schematic design, design development, 3D visualization, and complete construction documentation. The team coordinated structural and MEP consultants, managed the City of Miami Beach permit submission process, and handled zoning compliance including waterfront setback review and height restriction analysis. Our scope ensured the project advanced from vision to fully resolved, code-compliant design ready for construction.
